This quote was given to me by some people I
know, but it’s what happened after that that has me wondering why!
Charles H. Spurgeon said “I believe a very large majority of
church-goers are merely unthinking, slumbering worshipers of an
unknown God.” Then God said to me, “These are the ones I want
you to reach.” He’s had me write those stories on
death-of-self to teach me to listen to him closely. I’m asking
those who know him intimately to join me in this task. It all
must start with prayer for His guidance and leading!
I believe the church-goers this quote is talking about are the ones
who profess to know Jesus Christ as Savior, but stop there.
Even Satan and his demons know Jesus Christ. The majority have to be
led in worship hence unthinking), going through the motions
(slumbering) worshippers of a God they truly don’t know.
The God who is leading me to write this wants to walk with each and
every one of his children every day just as he used to with Adam.
When Jesus Christ paid for our sins with his death, burial, and
resurrection He made it possible for all of His children to do that.
A very large majority would rather profess Jesus Christ, but live
the life of self with the assurance that because they
believe in Him they are saved. |
