GOD’S FABRIC SOFTENER
“Search me, O God, and know my heart:
try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.”
Psalm 139:23-24
I have some bath towels that my sister
gave me about six years ago. They were very rough on my skin.
The more I wash and dry them and put fabric softener sheets in the dryer,
the softer they become. It has taken many fabric softener sheets to
get them as soft as they are now.
The same is true with our hearts, the beginning of softening our hearts is
when we ask Jesus to come into our heart and save us. However, we
have to keep going back to Jesus and ask Him to take away all the
harshness and anger from our heart. Sometimes, we need to go more
than once a day to Jesus and ask Him to soften our heart.
How is your heart today? Is it soft so that Jesus can work through
you, or is it filled with things that turn others away from Jesus?
If you haven’t asked Jesus to soften your heart today, then I urge you to
go to Him and ask Him to help you be the person He wants you to be.
Someone may be looking at your life today, perhaps your spouse, children,
grandchildren, or friends. Someone may be contemplating suicide and
you may be the one God wants to use. Allow Jesus to soften your
heart today.
I challenge all of us to be an encourager and encourage people with the
Love of Jesus.
