GOD’S ARMY
“We then that are strong ought to
bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves.”
Romans 15:1
I have seen on television when a soldier was wounded the rest of the troop
rushing to help and placing themselves in danger of getting hurt or
killed. How sad it is that in this world when someone makes a
mistake or sins, instead of rushing to help that person we point the
finger and condemn the individual!
Last week, I made a very poor decision that left me broken hearted.
I started to cry so I called someone for comfort and encouragement.
Instead of comfort, I was reminded of several things that I had done wrong
in my life.
Are you encouraging people and comforting them, or are you pointing the
finger and condemning them? We are so quick to point out the faults
of others, yet we don’t like to admit that we also make poor decisions and
sin.
We need to be lifting people up instead of putting them down. One
day, all of us will stand before God and give an account of every critical
and abusive word we have said to others. We hurt the Heart of Jesus
when we say things that discourage people.
