GOD’S HOUSE

"Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? And where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word."
Isaiah 66:1-2

Is your house filled with things that brings honor to Jesus?  When He looks at your coffee table, does He see the Bible, or does He see a magazine that is filled with pornography?  Is He able to rest comfortably in your house?

You may keep your house immaculate, but what about your heart?  Is it clean, or is it dirty and filled with the stench of satan?  Jesus has done so much for us; we should be eager and willing to do anything that will make Him happy.  O that we would grasp how much Jesus has sacrificed for us.

He is not impressed with how much money we make, the fancy cars we drive, and all of our worldly possessions.  He is interested in the condition of our heart.  Have you made a bed in your heart for Jesus?  Do you have a comfortable pillow in your heart for Jesus to rest His Head on?  Is your heart dusty with anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, and resentment?

We make our bed when we get up in the morning, but do we make the bed for Jesus in our heart?  Just as we have to make our bed every day, we have to make the bed in our heart for Jesus by asking Him to forgive us for failing Him.  Is the bed in your heart made for Jesus to rest on today?  Are there clean sheets and a sweet smelling pillow for Him to lay His Head on?
