A NEW DAY
“It is of the Lord’s
mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They
are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23
I was singing Christmas songs tonight. I have heard a lot of people
say that it is not appropriate to sing Christmas songs in the middle of
the year. If you have ever experienced the Mercy of Jesus in your
heart and realized the extent of His Forgiveness to you, then I submit
to you that every day should be a celebration of His Mercy and
Compassion.
We should treat each day like it is going to be our last day on earth,
because it might be. We have a choice to make every morning.
We can choose to wallow in self-pity, depression, anger, resentment,
bitterness, and hatred, or we can choose to exalt the Name of Jesus.
If we ever get even a thumbnail’s glimpse of all that Jesus has done for
us, we will stop complaining about things. We will start praising
Him for all that He has done for us. Every breath that we take
comes from Him and we can choose to glorify Him or ignore Him.
What is your choice today? Are you going to spend the day serving
Jesus or serving the world?
