GOD’S SOAP
"Have mercy upon me, O
God, according to thy lovingkindess: according unto the multitude of thy
tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine
iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions:
and my sin is ever before me. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean:
wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow."
Psalm 51:1-3,7
I was opening some cans a couple of days ago with my electric can opener.
It opened the cans like usual, however when it was supposed to stop after
opening the cans, it just kept going around and around. I tried it
again the next day and it did the same thing. I decided to take it back
and get another one, that it must be defective. I took it apart to
wash it so it would be clean when I returned it to the store. I
tried it one more time after washing it because I really like this can
opener. Guess what, it worked perfectly and stopped like it is
supposed to do.
It reminded me of how God has to clean our hearts every day because they
get dirty and filled with anger, sarcasm, criticism, jealousy, bitterness,
and cruel words. We can try to hide what is in our heart by smiling.
However, that smile does not reach our eyes and our heart. It takes the
cleansing Forgiveness and Love of Jesus to clean our hearts.
We get so caught up in the turmoil of our day that we become unclean and
unfit for the Master’s use. Have you allowed Jesus to clean your
heart today?
