I am blessed to have born in the United States of America!  This country was founded on a strong Christian background.  The evidence is strong.

God in Government Buildings
UNITED STATES CAPITOL

The United States Capitol has religious artwork throughout the rooms including in the Rotunda where the prayer service of Christopher Columbus, the Baptism of Pocahontas, and the prayer and Bible study of the Pilgrims are all displayed.

In the Cox Corridor of the Capitol the words “America! God shed His grace on thee” are inscribed.
UNITED STATES SENATE

The east Senate entrance has the words “Annuit Coeptis”, Latin for “God has favored our undertakings”.

"In God We Trust" is prominently displayed in the Senate chamber.
UNITED STATES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Around the top of the walls in the House Chamber appear images of 23 great lawgivers from across the centuries but Moses is the only lawgiver honored with a full face view, looking down on the proceedings of the House.

"In God We Trust" is prominently displayed in the House chamber.
UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT

The Ten Commandments are represented in numerous locations at the U. S. Supreme Court, including in the frieze above the Justices, the oak door at the rear of the Chamber, the gable apex, and in dozens of locations on the bronze latticework surrounding the Supreme Court Bar seating.
NATIONAL ARCHIVES

The Ten Commandments are found in bronze in the floor of the National Archives.
WASHINGTON MONUMENT

In the Washington Monument not only are numerous Bible verses and religious acknowledgements carved on memorial blocks in the walls, including the phrases: “Holiness to the Lord” (Exodus 28:26, 30:30, Isaiah 23:18, Zechariah 14:20), “Search the Scriptures” (John 5:39), “The memory of the just is blessed” (Proverbs 10:7), “May Heaven to this Union continue its beneficence,” and “In God We Trust”, but the Latin inscription Laus Deo, “Praise be to God,” is engraved on the monument’s capstone.
LIBRARY OF CONGRESS

There is a bronze statue of Moses in the Main Reading Room of the Library of Congress.

The Giant Bible of Mainz and The Gutenberg Bible are on prominent permanent display and etched on the walls are Bible verses, including “The light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehendeth it not” (John 1:5); “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom and with all thy getting, get understanding” (Proverbs 4:7); “What doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God” (Micah 6:8); and “The heavens declare the Glory of God, and the firmament showeth His handiwork” (Psalm 19:1).

God in Writing
God or the divine is mentioned at least once in each of the 50 state constitutions and nearly 200 times overall, according to a Pew Research Center analysis.
The United States' Declaration of Independence in 1776 mentions God four times
"IN GOD WE TRUST" first appeared on two-cent coins minted in 1863. Other coins had In God We Trust engraved from 1866 on. Dollar coins got the motto in 1873 for trade dollars and 1878 for common circulation Morgan dollars. A law was passed in July 1955 by a joint resolution of the 84th Congress and was approved by President Dwight Eisenhower requiring that "In God We Trust" appear on all American currency. This law was first implemented on the updated one-dollar silver certificate that entered circulation on October 1, 1957. The 84th Congress later passed legislation ,also signed by President Eisenhower on July 30, 1956, declaring the phrase to be the national motto.
The first postage stamps with the motto appeared in 1954.

God in the Pledge of Allegiance
I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible,
with Liberty and Justice for all.
In 1942 Congress formally adopted the words of the Pledge of Allegiance.  On Flag Day (June 14) in 1954 President Eisenhower approved the congressional resolution adding the words "under God" to the pledge.

In the United States Congress, the sessions of the House of Representatives and the Senate begin their daily business with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Students in public schools across the country say the Pledge of Allegiance every morning.

God in Songs
I've highlighted the mention of God in each song.  These are songs we, the citizens of the United States, sing on the Fourth of July and other patriotic days/events.  I wonder if some of the people who don't believe in God are singing along, not realizing what the words even mean.
The Star Spangled Banner
Listen now

O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there,
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
(We only sing the first verse)

On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream,
’Tis the star-spangled banner - O long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore,
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion
A home and a Country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand
Between their lov’d home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with vict’ry and peace may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the power that hath made and preserv’d us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto - “In God is our trust,”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

----Francis Scott Key ----

The anthem’s history began the morning of September 14, 1814, when an attorney and amateur poet named Francis Scott Key watched U.S. soldiers—who were under bombardment from British naval forces during the War of 1812—raise a large American flag over Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland.
My Country 'Tis of Thee
Listen now

My country, 'tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing;
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims' pride,
From ev'ry mountainside
Let freedom ring!

My native country, thee,
Land of the noble free,
Thy name I love;
I love thy rocks and rills,
Thy woods and templed hills;
My heart with rapture thrills,
Like that above.

Let music swell the breeze,
And ring from all the trees
Sweet freedom's song;
Let mortal tongues awake;
Let all that breathe partake;
Let rocks their silence break,
The sound prolong.

Our fathers' God, to thee,
Author of liberty,
To thee we sing;
Long may our land be bright
With freedom's holy light;
Protect us by thy might,
Great God, our King.

----Samuel Francis Smith----

In 1831, while studying at Andover Theological Seminary, Smith was asked by composer Lowell Mason to translate some German song books. Inspired by one of the German songs—"God Bless Our Native Land" (set to the tune of "God Save the King")—Smith set out to write an original patriotic song for America set to the same melody. The result was what Smith called "America" and what would eventually be better known as "My Country, ’Tis of Thee." The song was first performed on July 4, 1831, by a children’s choir in Boston.

God Bless America
Listen now

Intro:
While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer.

Song:
God bless America, land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with the light from above
From the mountains
To the prairies,
To the ocean white with foam
God bless America,
My home sweet home.

----Irving Berling----

Berlin re-wrote the song on his way back to America after attending the London premiere (September 30, 1938) of his film Alexander’s Ragtime Band. Introduced by Kate Smith on her CBS radio show, The Kate Smith Hour, on November 10, 1938. (It is Kate Smith singing in the "listen now" song.)  The original song was written in 1918.

Battle Hymn of the Republic
Listen now

Mine eyes hath seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.

[Chorus]
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;
His day is marching on.

[Chorus]
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.

I have read a fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel;
“As ye deal with My contemners, so with you My grace shall deal”;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,
Since God is marching on.

----Julia Ward Howe----

In November 1861, a woman named Julia Ward Howe and her husband visited Washington, D.C. While there, Howe, a published poet, heard Union troops belting out a well-known marching song called “John Brown’s Body,” after the famous abolitionist, John Brown. A preacher standing with Howe encouraged her to write new lyrics to the tune.

America the Beautiful
Listen now

O beautiful for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet,
Whose stern, impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness,
And every gain divine!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

----Katherine Lee Bates----

O beautiful for spacious skies,
The opening lines of what became the song “America the Beautiful” first struck Katharine Lee Bates atop Pikes Peak in the Rocky Mountains during the summer of 1893.

How the USA Changed
 I'm not sure when atheists and other non-believing people got strong enough to disturb the Christian foundation of this country.  In the 1950's there were still Christian-based laws being passed.  (See the In Writing section)

In the 1950's (not a bad decade....I was born in it) women were subject to their husbands as the scriptures directed.  My mom referred to herself as Mrs. Maurice F. Nelson.  Most mothers stayed home and took care of their children.  Most public schools taught a well-rounded education.  That's only part of how things were because I was just a youngster and wasn't paying attention to details.

It is a thing that, when children become teenagers, they question almost everything about their lives.  They become rebellious.  I remember thinking I knew everything when I was 14 years old.  I thought my parents didn't understand me.  I wasn't as far out as a lot of teenagers.  I obeyed my parents' rules 99% of the time.

The prices of things went up and more desirable luxuries came on the market.  Many Moms and Dads had to work to pay the bills.  That often left the kiddos alone during the day.  Crime increased.  Gangs began because the kids felt alone. Parents had to work harder to make more money because Mom wasn't always home to cook for the family, Moms bought clothes because she no longer had time to sew clothes for the family.  Mom probably needed her own car.  Maybe the kids were put in daycare.  Many children were being raised by someone other than their parents.

I'm not an expert.  I can only go off of what I see and what I experience.  To me the biggest change in our country came when Donald Trump announced he was running for president in 2016.  All of a sudden people that I knew became angry and argumentative.  I was shocked.

After the election I had friends say I was an idiot for voting for Trump.  I tried to have normal conversations and was treated like I was stupid.  They wouldn't listen to reason.  I lost friends.

Since then I've seen a lot more demonic behavior.  The news programs began lying.  Years back the news reporters used investigative reporting and did their best to give us the truth.  All of a sudden it seemed that the people in charge of news were being forced or bribed to submit fake news to the public.  Most news stations that used to give honest news (ABC, CBS, NBC) started all using the same words and saying the same things as if they were only reading what they were told to say rather than actually reporting news on their own.  Plus there was a lot more opinion being spoken.  People who used to believe the news continued to believe the news those stations were reporting and were adopting the opinions as fact.  The news reporters would no longer dig for the truth.  People who listened to them wouldn't spend time researching things that sounded off.

Politicians, who had been doing whatever they wanted, who made tons of money doing what they wanted, who had manipulated things to stay in power, were freaking out because they had no control over Trump. They were afraid because he said he would "drain the (political) swamp".  The ones freaking out were the ones who knew they were the swamp.

My own personal experience proved to me that money and power changed people who got into politics.  I witnessed a man I knew for years get on our city council in California and appeared to have turned against what was best for the people for personal gain.  He and two other council members were seen hanging out with the developer of a project that was horrible for our city by one of the two council members who voted against it.  Yeah, the three likely got paid off to vote for the project as they got the project passed with a three to two vote.

Before it was passed I went to council meetings and planning meetings with facts about how the project was bad.  I had a bulletin board with push pins with how the traffic would jam up because there was no other way around.  I also pointed out you don't go from open space zoning to maximum density without paying attention to those facts.  I got anonymous hate mail telling me to kill myself and to light myself on fire.  I was reported to the police as threatening the mayor.  After the project was voted in I had told her I wished upon her the same thing she did to my family by voting for the project.

When Joe Biden ran for president I could see there was something not quite right about him.  He said strange things and often acted like his memory wasn't what it should be.  I was shocked when I found out he had been elected.  I couldn't believe that a majority of American citizens actually thought he would be a good president.

Anyway, I didn't start screaming, rioting, burning things, or anything like that.  I settled in for four years of being embarrassed by having him as my president, as did most everyone else.  It was a big difference from how Trump was attacked when he won....both times.  His opposition tried to put him in jail, bankrupt him, and kill him.

While Biden was president things really went wonky!  White people were all deemed to be racist and exhibiting supremacy over everyone else.  That theory began being taught in public schools!  Riots caused property damage, injuries, and death and were allowed to continue indefinitely.  They were actually praised and encouraged by some politicians.  At school board meetings parents protesting having sexually outrageous books in school libraries were designated as terrorists by the national government.  It just got worse and worse.  All the while our president was hiding from us.  He rarely appeared in public, rarely answered questions from reporters, and never came out when there was a large disaster.  It was scary.  I wondered, "What if our country was attacked?  Would he hide in a safe place and leave us all to die?"

So, Trump wanted to Make America Great Again (MAGA).  That certainly was a good thing!  MAGA people have been called "a threat to democracy", "proponents of semi-fascism", "garbage", "deplorable", "racist", "sexist", "determined to take this country backwards...where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love", "extremists", "stupid", and more.

So, the United States of America is in a turmoil.  Trump is doing his best to bring us back to prosperity, peace, and to decency.  The "fake news" still says he is a horrible person.  But it was the same fake news that told us Biden was fine.  They wouldn't show the public the videos of Biden stumbling, mumbling, falling, and more.  They accused Republicans of faking the videos.  I really would like to see the Pinocchio effect take place when people lie.
Pinocchio's nose growing

The United States needs prayer, lots of it!  The entire world needs lots of prayer as well!  I feel like I am seeing Bible end-time prophecies being fulfilled!
