Here I go again. God has put the Weekly Word on my heart and mind for the past month. So, it appears He is going to help me do the Bible Studies again on a weekly basis. I've been reading the book of Isaiah and God grabbed a scripture and pointed out what a good Bible Study it would make. I refer to what God does to me is tapping (and sometimes bonking) on the back of my head to get my attention. I'm surprised I don't have a massive lump back there!!
I'm 5 weeks in on my new hip. The incision seems
to have lost a stitch or two and looks infected. I have a call in to
my doctor. This hip isn't healing the same as my first hip. On
my first hip I felt great at four weeks and was able to ride my horse at
four weeks. This one doesn't feel bad, it just is taking longer. You probably don't know that I have a horse. We
also have a donkey. Our across the street neighbors moved in shortly
after we did. They are horsey people.
I've always loved horses. When I was young I owned an invisible horse. When we moved here I looked up at the mountain and thought, "I need a horse to ride up there!" My neighbor had a friend who lives in a high altitude in Colorado. She had a horse that developed bleeding lung from the altitude. Her vet suggested the horse be put down. My neighbor told her that she was pretty sure she knew someone who wanted a horse.....me! We live in Arizona where it is dry and not a high altitude. So, my beautiful Lily was given to me. Shortly after that we adopted a semi-wild donkey (we named him Detour) to keep her company. It turns out we didn't have to do that because the same woman in Colorado had another horse, Simon, who developed the heaves from allergies in the altitude. He was on an inhaler and allergy meds. He wasn't getting any better so she asked me if I wanted to buy him. So.......we have two horses and a donkey. Come visit so we can ride! Where we live there are tons of horse trails. Some are able to be reached without a trailer. I need to get a horse trailer so I can access the other trails. There isn't always room for us in my neighbor's trailer. I bought a fixer-upper trailer when we only had two equines. I'm not fixing it up because I need room for all three sometimes. I have to sell it and find a way to afford a bigger trailer. We have a travel trailer that we need to sell so we can buy another truck camper. That way we can go camping and traveling and take our giant pets with us! I mentioned "the mountain" and need to explain. We live within a mile of the base of the Superstition Mountains in Arizona. I call it our back yard because it is on our back yard side of the house. It is amazing! Here's a photo taken with the sun setting. I am awestruck every time I look at them. God has truly blessed me by bringing us to Arizona. Wait a minute! We were kind of forced out of California. So, maybe I should say he shoved us to Arizona. That's fine. It's wonderful here. OK, a little hot in the summer. Thank God for air conditioning!! On to the Bible Study! |
