It's over, it's over!!!! Yesterday was the football booster club golf tournament! I was so exhausted that I went to bed at 8:30PM and slept till 7:30AM this morning! I haven't slept well for the past week with all the dreams about the tournament I've been having!

The semi-final total for the profit from the tournament is $2,200! I guess that's nothing to sneeze at! According to the golfers that I spoke with, it was a success! Not bad for someone who didn't know what she was doing and who had never been to a golf tournament!

I will be on vacation next week, so this won't get updated until around the 14th of August. You can picture me sitting in my beach chair, under our shade tarp, legs in the Colorado River, and a Diet Coke in my hand. I can't wait!

I've got an awful lot of stuff to do around the house. I let things get way behind while I was working on the golf tournament. My poor roses look horrible. My garden didn't get watered for a few days and it shows. My desk is piled high with things I need to do. I've got to get caught up and turn my brain on planning our vacation!

Another reason I'm looking forward to our vacation is because I get to spend a lot more uninterrupted time with God. He and I enjoy our vacation together. I'm expecting great things to happen in my relationship with Him. That relationship has suffered some lately because of the large amount of time I've spent on the tournament. Oh, by the way, He helped me with the tournament. He's so wonderful! He cares about every little thing in our lives!

I'm sorry I'm late. We got back from our vacation on Sunday and it has been non-stop action ever since. I still haven't made much of a dent in putting things away.

Band camp started this week and I had to put together student lists and other things. I also had to finish up last week's scrip stuff and do this week's. Last night was the football booster club meeting and I had to get all my facts and figures ready from the golf tournament and some other things. I was preparing for that and all of a sudden realized I missed the band camp dinner. I'm the one with the list of students, too! Oh, boy, I probably gave someone a headache over that!

I went to the optometrist Tuesday for an eye exam. For a while I've had a weird doughnut shaped shadow in my left eye. It has made it difficult to read. Turns out it is probably stress-related. I first noticed it the week before the golf tournament. I guess I was working a bit too hard on that thing!

My vacation was very relaxing! I didn't do much of anything but take it easy! I sure needed that. But, by yesterday, I was ready for another vacation!

This morning I had a doctor appointment to see how my blood pressure is doing. It's good, but the medicine was giving me some side effects that were not acceptable, so I'm trying something else. I also needed to get a referral to an ophthalmologist for a second opinion on my eye problem. I helped at band camp for lunch and dinner. It has been a busy day. Now, I am working very hard to get this online tonight.

OK, I think we are back to normal here. Well, normal is a relative term. I'm not sure I remember, or even knew what normal actually is! ;-)

What I mean is, you should be able to see this updated on Mondays (Tuesdays at the latest) from now on. Band camp is winding down. School is getting ready to start. Once I get the guys out of the house I should be able to get some things done around here.

Satansees our personality and our way of doing things. He knows I have a tendency to step in and help where I see a need. He's keeping me busy so I take my eyes off the Lord! There are some things the Lord wants me to be doing, but I keep getting roped into adding more things to my list of volunteer "jobs."

My organizational ability, my ability to see potential problems, and my ability to simplify and streamline are all valuable commodities in a lot of activities. Unfortunately, the other people with those same gifts aren't in the thick of things offering to help. They are numbered among the other parents who are not willing to offer their services for the benefit of the whole program. Therefore, the few of us that are helping end up helping more than we should. We end up being key helpers in multiple activities.

Satanis sneaky. He uses good things to disguise bad things. In my human thinking I feel it is a good thing to help the band and football programs as much as I can. When my walk with the Lord is suffering it turns into a terrible thing. I have made some big mistakes by taking on too much. I am becoming more useful in the worldly sense, but am becoming more useless in the spiritual sense. Time for a change!

It's official. I know what is wrong with my left eye. I have a "blister" on my retina. They aren't sure what causes it, but they think it may be stress-related. There is no treatment. It should go away in about three months or so. There may be permanent damage to my vision.

I am not going to settle for that. I am expecting to wake up one morning and have clear vision. After all, 1Peter 2:24 says, "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." I've already been healed. My healing is waiting for me. Ephesians 1:3 says, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ." I've got to get that healing out of the heavenly places and into my earthly eye by having faith! Yes, Lord, I receive!!!!!

In June of 2002, after my youngest graduates, I am throwing myself a 'No More Booster Clubs" party! Want to come?
